Does flying make you anxious? Or are you simply turning to the internet to see if you legally can take CBD through security? You are in luck! We have your answer and some helpful tips while traveling with your CBD, including international travel guidelines.
Can you take CBD on a plane?
The simple answer is yes! You can take your CBD and hemp products on a plane. You can place it in your checked baggage. However, we would suggest that you place it in a secure container in case it breaks since the bottles are glass. You can also take your CBD products through security in a carry-on as long as it is under 3 ounces and in a secure container. As for THC, you must-have products that are legal in the United States. This means that the THC levels are under 0.3 percent. If your CBD product contains more than 0.3 percent of THC you may not be able to bring it with you.
As of 2020 TSA said,
“Marijuana and certain cannabis-infused products, including some cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law except for products that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis or that are approved by FDA. (See the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, Pub. L. 115-334.) TSA officers are required to report any suspected violations of law to local, state or federal authorities.”
TSA also states,
“TSA’s screening procedures are focused on security and are designed to detect potential threats to aviation and passengers. Accordingly, TSA security officers do not search for marijuana or other illegal drugs, but if any illegal substance is discovered during security screening, TSA will refer the matter to a law enforcement officer.”
We would also suggest you bring a certificate of analysis or COA to prove that all Applied Botanics CBD products are THC-free. You must have the label on the product that says “NO THC”.
Traveling internationally is a little different since all countries have different laws on cannabis and hemp products. If you are traveling internationally make sure you look up the country’s laws on CBD and Hemp. If it is legal same rules apply as domestic travel. Make sure your label says “THC-free” and is under 3 ounces.

Traveling and plane rides bring anxiety to a lot of different people. Some people have emotional support or service animals while others take prescription drugs to get through a plane ride. Comfort CBD may help you ease the anxiety and make flying a more pleasant experience. You will not feel ‘high’ or feel like your mind is altered in any way but your body may react better to anxiety. Aviophobia (the fear of flying) is a very real thing. According to the National Institute of Mental Health around 6.5 percent of the US population are scared of flying. There is a lot that can go into aviophobia. Some people have a fear of heights, fear of crashing, fear of being out of control, fear of being so close to strangers, and some have all of these fears. There is also the anxiety that traveling in general brings. Are you late? Did you forget your wallet? What if we get delayed? Do you have everything for the kids? What if the baby cries? Will I make it to my gate? All of these feelings are completely normal but CBD may help manage some feelings of fear or anxiety.
With our Comfort CBD you may be able to say Bon Voyage, to anxiety and hello to the freedom of flying.
